Why Do I Paint?
Why Do I Paint?
Why do I paint? This is a very good question which I don’t have a good answer. Hmm… well I started off now with boredom, anxiety, restless, depression and kind of I need a friend to talk to. It’s more like my drugs and maybe I can called it my ‘rehab centre’. Well actually, it started off when I was this ‘booger digging’ kid who was amazed by my parents especially my dad who drew a horse for a sample for me to view for my ‘kelas lukisan’ in Primary School. From there I started sketching and beginning to love arts. I hate arts with ‘do & don’ts especially at school. My artwork was rejected for a lot of uncountable times because of breaking the rules. I was never the person who is involved in anything regarding to arts although there’s few times that my friends did convinced me to do it and guess what… I couldn’t be bothered. Then my interest developed more when I started studying graphic. It’s a norm routine that everyday before class we have to draw or sketch atleast minimum of 5 figures. Basically my college teaches us the basic first before we go into Graphic studies.
Why do I paint? (come on Fara u can do better than explaining just that). For once in my life I want to get things right or maybe slightly. I think to express myself more rather than being this so called boring person. It’s not proving to everybody but proving to myself that I can do this. I want to paint because ‘I want to not forced to’. Painting and splating colours with no limitations in life (except for money..hehehe). Expressing myself more… that’s the main answer to your question. I owe this to my dad who teaches me the colours of life in his own way.
He showed me colours and lines of life which I can’t get from anybody. Blunt, sarcastic and very straight forward man I ever met in my life.
